About the Massachusetts State Lottery

Massachusetts lottery results have been thrilling lottery lovers for over 50 years. Massachusetts was an early adopter of the lottery. The first ticket was sold on March 22, 1972. In 1974, Massachusetts became the first state to sell instant tickets. The first game had a top prize of $10,000. The lottery expanded from there over the years. In 2017, an MA winner took home a $758.7 million Powerball grand prize. At the time, it was the largest jackpot prize ever won on a single ticket in North America.

How to Claim your Lottery Winnings in Massachusetts

Did you order your ticket with Jackpocket? If you did and won up to $600, you’re in luck! There isn’t anything for you to do. We will credit your winnings directly to your Jackpocket account. Use them to participate again or transfer them to your bank account.

Won a higher amount? Prizes between $601 and $5,000 can be claimed using our mobile app for direct deposit into your bank account.

Claims for prizes through $50,000 can be claimed by mail. Prizes through $103,000 can be claimed at any Lottery office. If you were fortunate enough to win more than $103,000, your prize must be claimed at the Lottery headquarters in Dorchester.

Tickets must be claimed within one year of the date of the drawing.
