Marketing Data Analyst

Job Description

As a Marketing Data Analyst you will create tangible value by helping to implement, test, and report on analytics and marking performance trends. You will be responsible for optimizing ad campaigns, building marketing attribution models, improving retention and maximizing customer lifetime value. As the first key analytics hire, the work you do will directly contribute to key decisions and our overall success. As Jackpocket is an app with numerous features and end-to-end purchase funnel, you will have the opportunity to work with a robust data set across platforms as well as impact future measurement planning.

The ideal candidate must possess analytical and statistical aptitude, technical skills, intellectual curiosity and the ability to communicate results effectively. The position also requires a strong understanding of consumer behavior, actionable insights, as well as marketing and business in general. You must be able to foster close working relationships with the internal marketing team, technologists, and other key stakeholders.


  • Optimize entire marketing funnel by analyzing data from FB, AppsFlyer, Localytics, MailChimp, Mixpanel, SQL queries and other platforms
  • Develop ongoing measurement / learning plan against core business KPI’s and be responsible for managing implementation both with internal tech resources and with 3rd party vendors
  • Track learnings over time and actively make strategic recommendations
  • Work with Acquisition and Retention manager to identify, implement, and analyze test programs
  • Work with technical team to ensure proper tracking and implement processes to enable greater insights and data optimization
  • Perform day-to-day optimization of acquisition, retention, and social efforts
  • Monitor data integrity and work with teams to troubleshoot discrepancies
  • Perform analysis and modeling on consumer journey in shaping LTV
  • Craft weekly and monthly reports on key trends, performance metrics, insights, and opportunities
  • Handle ad hoc reporting / data needs from exec team
  • Bring new ideas around marketing, customer experience, and data technology
  • Stay abreast of latest industry topics, trends, news, methodologies and tools


  • B.A. in a quantitative field required
  • 3-5 years of experience as a marketing analyst with focus on e-commerce, i-gaming, or other customer business models driven by in-app purchases
  • Experienced with mobile acquisition and retention
  • Very experienced with analytics tools and automation platforms including social listening tools, web analytics, Localytics or similar, and other attribution, measurement, and optimization products
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities and data driving decision making
  • Intellectually curious, driven, and a strong critical thinker
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment: demonstrated ability to prioritize, self-start, contribute under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Past experience with Tableau, predictive modeling, and data mining a plus
